Hannah Baxendale exists solely as a designer and maker, with a deep curiosity about a multitude of materials. Her style continuously experiments with pleasant texture and form which aims to promote feelings of 'good unexpectedness'. Hannah's charming objects desire to challenge mundane design principles and transform regular objects into functional sculptures. Sculptures which possess both useable and emotional qualities.
By taking inspiration from the glee she felt from creating as a child. Her designing process takes on a playful, non-serious structure, something which translates into the work itself.
After completing a degree in Product Design and Craft at Manchester School of Art, She now exhibits her work around Manchester. Baxendale continues to specalise in glassblowing, on top of this her other studio work consists of Jesmonite Casting, various wood work and other traditional crafts such as mosaicking and stained glass.
